Former Pakistan cricketing legend and world’s fastest bowler Shoaib Akhtar, renowned for his aggressive bowling, recently spoke about the current Pakistani fast bowling attack and called it parallel to the bowlers of golden era of cricket, led by the formidable duo, Waqar Younis & Wasim Akram.

Shoaib Akhtar stated that Pakistan has the best pace attack combination in world cricket right now. While speaking about the trio, Shoaib Akhtar applauded all three featuring Shaheen Shah Afridi, Naseem Shah, and Haris Rauf. In various interviews, Shoaib Akhtar has been heard saying all three bowlers have different qualities and have agreed with the team strategy of Pakistani pacers, going for wickets rather than containing runs in the first and second power play during the 50-over ODI matches.

In a recent interview with Star Sports, Shoaib Akhtar couldn’t contain his excitement as he showered praise on Pakistan’s rising stars in cricket, namely Shaheen Shah Afridi, Naseem Shah, and Haris Rauf. He was absolutely thrilled to point out that these three talented bowlers had managed to capture a staggering 23 wickets in just three matches during the ongoing Asia Cup, hosted jointly by Pakistan and Sri Lanka. Akhtar was genuinely in awe of the extraordinary skills these young Pakistani cricketers were displaying on the field, and he couldn’t help but express his admiration.

Adding to the amazement, Akhtar highlighted the challenging pitch conditions that these bowlers faced in all three matches. He empathized that these pitches were far from ideal for fast bowlers, yet the trio persisted in delivering impeccable line and length, making life difficult for their opponents throughout the full 50 overs. Their ability to consistently snatch vital wickets in every game showcased not just their talent but also their unwavering commitment to their craft. For Akhtar, these young pacers were the future of Pakistan’s cricket, and their remarkable performances in the Asia Cup only served to solidify their place among the elite in the world of cricket.

Advice to Pakistan Fast Bowling Attack

Out of all, Shoaib Akhtar lauded Shaheen Shah Afridi the most, calling him an Ace bowler, who has made a resounding impact in recent match against India, whereby he totally bamboozled the Indian top-order batters, leaving a horrific mark on Indian batters.

He stated that the game against India was disrupted by the rain, otherwise Pakistanis would have easily won the game. Moreover, he said that Shaheen’s prowess with the new ball makes him a constant threat for the oppositions, especially leading up to the crucial Super Four clash against arch-rivals India.

Shoaib Akhtar could not hide his excitement while presenting an analysis to the Indian Interviewers, that Pakistan’s ability to consistently produce exceptional fast bowlers. He reiterated that “This pace battery reminds me of the good old days, it reminds me of that era of the Wasim and Waqar. These bowlers are very confident and have the mindset of taking wickets at the initial stages of the games.”

Along with Shaheen Shah Afridi, Shoaib Akhtar stated that in only three games played by Pakistan against Nepal, India and Bangladesh, Haris Rauf, the first change speedster currently tops the Asia Cup bowling figures with an amazing 9 wickets. Haris continues his form in the Super Four match against Bangladesh where he wreaked havoc on opposition and took 4 wickets from his six overs.

Shoaib Akhtar, the fastest bowler of all time, suggested to Naseem Shah, to go for wickets in the initial stages of the game, since his ability to seam the cricket ball makes him a nightmare for opposition batters.
